Tips : Travelling In A Big City

As I've promised...

NY is everyone's dream place,
especially if that person
is a Gossip Girl fan;
she would definitely want to visit all
of the places where Blair and Serena always went to etc.

Those places are part of 1000 places
I must visit before I die, haha

and ALHAMDULILLAH,
my dream came true!

A few days before going to NY;

"I have to dress like New Yorker!"

Laugh at me,
but I was reading an article,
telling me that I had to dress up like New Yorker
while in NY.

HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO DRESS UP LIKE A NEW YORKER IN WINTER?!

So,
I googled;
New Yorker Winter Fashion.

The pictures that I got were
knitted cardigans, expensive coats.

Nopeee, I have no money for that.
I would just wear the outfits that I had.

In most of the articles that I read;
they never mentioned about not to walk alone in NY!
(I bet because it was common sense, not to walk alone, because you'll never walk alone HAHA)
No, seriously!

DO NOT WALK ALONE IN NY!

I had three other friends, who're in the NY trip with me.
All for of us, always walked together
while riding on the subway etc;
but in the subway, heading to Manhattan,
there's a weird looking stranger;
covering half of his head,
looking at us like we're meat to eat.
It's scary.
He looked so suspicious.
So, we decided to get off the subway and waited for a new train.

As we got off the subway,
he was following us, it's so obvious.

We could no longer husnuzon, okay?

We're so scared, but still acted cool.
So we decided to walk upstairs, no longer staying underground.
Luckily there're NYPD officers upstairs,
the man gave us the look, and disappeared.
We made sure he's not coming back,
then only we took the next subway.

It's very frightening!

People in NY,
they're the same like any other city people.

Everyone minds his/her own business.

WALK FAST!

I was so pissed off with some couples,
who walked very slowly,
on a very busy avenue;
6th avenue where everyone
was pushing each other during NY's eve!
NY is not a good place for honeymoon,
overdue honeymoon is okay,
but not your first honeymoon!!

Dear future husband,
take note!
Greece is great place!
Or maybe you want to consider the whole Europe;
I am more than thankful for that :)

Next tip;
if you ever plan to visit all of NY attractions;
buy the NY pass;
it costs you 200$ for three days;
you can go to any places listed on the pass,
you don't have to queue to get into the place.

or if it's too expensive for you,
DO PURCHASE ONLINE TICKET!

You do not want to waste 5 hours of your precious time in NY
just to queue up for tickets.

We already bought our tickets online,
but we still had to queue to go up the Empire State Building.
(Approximately 2 hours)

Halal food stalls are everywhere in NY!
The hotdogs are nice, the lamb wrap is so gooood too!

TRY DOUGHNUT PLANT!

OMG, that's like the best doughnuts ever,
the best in NY! It's only in NY!
I like the Hazelnut Chocolate doughseeds.

I tried Hazelnut Chocolate doughseeds, Brooklyn one, Manhattan and Blackout one.
I can't remember which one is doughnut cake and which one is filled doughnut,
I just remember the cheesy names they have.

PLAN YOUR TRIP WELL
GET TO KNOW HOW TO USE THE SUBWAY
YOU MIGHT WANT TO WALK MORE, RATHER THAN USING SUBWAYS
because
the views are great!
If we took subway from the Battery Park to Manhattan,
we won't get to see Wall Street.

WALK MORE!

I wish I could spend more time in NY,
go to all of the museums that exist there.

Maybe one day,
I will come back.

But not this year,
I shall spend my money travelling to other places as well haha!

I've discovered a lot of things during this trip.

1. I rather spend more time in one place,
visit all of its attractions,
rather than going to many places, in rush, just for the sake of
crossing off the place of my world map.

2. Good travel companions are essentials to have a memorable trip!
I love my NY buddies :)

3. It's always good to see new places,
but it's even better if you can take your family with you :)
I always feel like this whenever I'm travelling.
How I wish, travelling is not an expensive hobby.

4. The grass is always greener on the other side.
Whenever I saw Malaysians (only twice) or Indonesians,
I was so excited HAHA.
I feel like home lol

5. I should always keep in mind that I'm not gonna spend my money on shopping
before, and during the trip;
so I will not go beyond my budget :P
(yet I still spend ;))

6. This opportunity is not for everyone,
I am the chosen one,
Allah has made this possible for me.
A few days in NY, it makes me realise that
yes, with money, you can earn power, expensive clothes and bags,
live in luxurious apartments ;
but those aren't the purpose of us being created in the first place.
Money just tears us apart,
causes double standard,
causes the existence of words, poor and rich
and the more we seek for money,
the less money we can possess
because we can never have enough money.
We always lack of money.

With the money that we have now,
we shall use it wisely.

With that one LV bag you purchase,
you can pay school fee for a homeless child.
Cehh!

Haha, you can do both, that's for sure.
